RYAN HALPERN, O.D. MEDICAL OPTOMETRIST

S. Ryan Halpern, O.D. started his career by obtaining a Bachelors in Biological Sciences at the University of Delaware. He then continued to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He completed an ocular disease rotation through Katzen Eye Group at Towson and Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Ryan completed a second private practice rotation specializing in contact lenses for corneal disease at the Dorfzaun Eye Group in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Ryan began his professional career in 2004 as an Optometrist with Halpern Eye Care. In 2010, he became President of Halpern Eye Care while continuing to see patients. In 2015, Dr. Ryan became President of Eye Specialists of Delaware. His experience includes practice management and specializing in Medical Optometry. His specialties include primary care, ocular disease, dry eye therapy, and specialty fit contact lenses which include bifocal contact lens fitting.

His professional memberships include Delaware Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the Contact Lens division of American Optometric Association. He is originally from Dover, Delaware where he currently resides. Dr. Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

I had Lasik done about a week ago and all I can say is I’m very impressed. A great surgeon, calm and professional which made me comfortable. I loved how informational he was. He did not use big medical terms to explain Lasik, he used eye models, pictures and diagrams. My vision a week later is 20/15 in both eyes.
