Dr. Lu is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cornea specialist experienced in cataract surgery, corneal surgery, and comprehensive ophthalmology. He specializes in premium cataract surgery, dropless surgery, implantation of multifocal and toric lenses, laser surgery, LASIK, PRK, ICL, corneal disease, corneal transplants, DSAEK/DSEK, DMEK, keratoconus, pterygium, glaucoma, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration.

Dr. Lu earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. He then obtained his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he graduated with distinction. Following graduation, Dr. Lu received his ophthalmology residency training at the Henry Ford Hospital. He then completed further subspecialty training with a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Throughout his career, he has been recognized with numerous awards for teaching, research, and clinical excellence. Pilots, professional athletes, and fellow surgeons have all entrusted their eyes with Dr. Lu and have praised him for his compassionate care.

In his spare time, Dr. Lu enjoys watching football, playing tennis, tending to his garden, and going for long runs on the beach.

I had Lasik done about a week ago and all I can say is I’m very impressed. A great surgeon, calm and professional which made me comfortable. I loved how informational he was. He did not use big medical terms to explain Lasik, he used eye models, pictures and diagrams. My vision a week later is 20/15 in both eyes. Before Lasik I could barely see the big E without my glasses a huge improvement
